You'll find your sweet love in time. Hold on.

I had to wear the payless.com boots again. I just had to!

I wore a scarf this morning because it was a bit chilly. The wool coats are not coming out until it gets ridiculously cold.

14 carats of cz fun!

I wasn't able to do any close-ups of the scarf, which is okay by me. It's kind of ratty from being worn so much. I've knitted various complex scarves, but this simple garter stitch one is one I always reach for.

honey, don't stop a speeding train before it reaches its destination

Almost two weeks ago, I tried on a pair of zip-up boots at Payless, but I couldn't zip them up very far. Maria tried to help me, but ewww, ouch, yeah, the zipper wasn't going to budge any further. My calves have a circumference of 15 inches, which I know won't fit in most tall boots anyway.

So, thank goodness, Payless.com had that same style in their extended calf sizing. I easily zipped up this pair, and there's still enough room in them to wear over my skinny jeans.

I was joking around with Maria that these vinyl boots are my gateway drug to look at leather boots on zappos.com that have extended calf sizing. She had recommended that site over and over, now I'm finally listening to her!

Check out my obnoxiously garish right-hand ring!

This huge 14ct cz goldtone ring is from the IMAN Global Chic line at hsn. It is incredibly cheesy and totally looks like a costume piece, but I like it. And no surprise, I bought it on clearance!

(The clearance rings section on hsn.com is my weakness, like whoa.)

don't talk about or dream about or think about no other

(Yeah, I'm still on a Sheena Easton kick.)

Today, my molar got a new crown, and my eyes received a pair of prescription sunglasses. While I'm not going to do a close-up of my tooth (uh, no, never), here's a pic of the sunglasses.

10-28-09-c

This was the cheapest pair of sunglasses frames, yet these were the most expensive lenses available. Yo. That's how I roll.

Just kidding.

My eyesight is seriously so bad, that if I got the regular lenses, the sunglasses would be extremely heavy. We're talking Coke bottles here. My prescription? -7.25 FTW!

Cheese!

100th Post~!

I'm celebrating my 100th post by drinking a bottle of kumquat DRY Soda and listening to the absolutely divine gem that is Sheena's A Private Heaven album.

It's too bad the outfit in today's post is nothing spectacular. I wore a baggy comfy outfit because I had a doctor's appointment. The two sweaters were a must because it was muy windy.

The lighting in the pics makes my face look pink. I swear, I was not drinking! ;) The night-time porch light kicked in right as I was taking them.

your candy kisses are sweet, i know

Today, I went to Mitsuwa, my favourite Japanese supermarket in San Jose. Even though I don't buy much from there, I have a tendency to browse the aisles for at least an hour. So, I had to dress comfortably.

baggy sweater: Ross.....tanktop: H&M.....baggy jeans: Steve & Barry's
shoes: Target

I usually don't tuck my top into my jeans, but I had to make an exception for today's outfit. The jeans are a size too big, so it looked really funny when I tried to style the tanktop over the jeans.

And what did I end up buying at Mitsuwa?
- 2 boxes of Selena "Eture Cotton" puffs
- 3 boxes of Selena "2 Way Cotton" puffs
- 2 P-Mind rubber make-up sponges
- a 5-pack of ramen
- candy!

Random review:
In my opinion, the cotton puffs from Japan are theee best for applying toner because they don't leave behind lint on my face. But it was through trial and error that I found that Selena "2 Way" puffs are the best of the inexpensive cotton puff lines. Ones that were mere pennies cheaper shredded like crazy. Mitsuwa does carry cotton puffs that go for at least 8-bucks a box, like Biore and Shiseido. Now those expensive ones are awesome, but they have a smaller quantity of puffs than the Selena brand. The last time I checked, a box of Biore puffs had 50 puffs, versus 90 puffs in a box of Selena "2 Way Cotton". And I'm all about getting the most bang for my buck.

I bought 2 boxes of the slightly pricier "Eture Cotton" because it's new to me.

And pics of what I purchased:

posting for posting's sake

I got home at 7. The sun had already set, but I took a few pics anyway.

I'll just post one, though.

i feel like speed. i feel like liquid.

After hanging out with Maria, I went to Gene's Fine Foods in P-Town for more DRY Soda. I bought a pack of lemongrass-flavour and another pack of kumquat-flavour.

When I got home, I decided to finally make "the carbonated screwdriver of goodness".

My recipe:
3 oz of Simply orange juice
1.5 oz of Russian Standard vodka
5 oz of kumquat-flavour DRY soda
a handful of ice

Combine these ingredients in that order in a tall glass. ENJOY~!

When I finished half of it, I poured in the rest of the kumquat soda. Waste not, want not!

And oh, yeah, this is an outfit blog after all....

Lookie, lookie, I'm wearing two sweaters!

Q: What is wrong with this picture?

A: This is my left hand!

I plumb forgot to put on my wedding set! But yet I put rings on my right hand?? Because I'm just weird, I moved the rings to my left hand.

I need a shot of love 'cause I got a bad, bad habit.

(I'm really hooked on Kylie right now. I can't help it.)

I wasn't going to do a post today because I wore this outfit a little over a month ago and because I'm just out of it.

I took off early from work this afternoon to go to my dental appointment for a crown prep. Mold of tooth + local anaesthetic + demolition of tooth + another mold + temp crown = crown prep. Not fun. I was so out of it that when I left the dentist, I forgot the temp crown mold and had to run back inside to get it. And I was so out of it, I got on the wrong freeway on-ramp. HUH? I was on the freeway for a short while before I realised that I was heading back to work!

There are two things a bit different from the last time I wore this outfit: the black tanktop (tiny diff) and the number of buttons that were done up (slightly bigger diff).

Today's photos:

Just for kicks --- a photo from 9-9-09:
9-9-09-redo
(Now, with slightly better Photoshop editing!)

Back when this photo was taken, I seriously couldn't button up this sweater over my stomach. That's why it's styled like this in the 9-9-09 shot. So, when I was able to button it up comfortably this morning, I was giddy! All the lunchtime walks and the afterwork workouts with Maria are starting to pay off. :)

Wait, why did I buy a sweater that didn't even fit that well? Because I liked the colour!

My reason for posting today is that today's post will serve as my motivator to keep working out.

Small steps! Small steps!

you shone like a torch in the dark, but here you are, another fallen star

Today, I wore a black outfit to simply show off my aubergine tights and ankle boots.

Because of this outfit, my manager kept calling me "Miss Trendy" throughout the day, which was just fine and dandy!

The draped skirt was a total find on the clearance section at Target.com. It was only $6.98!

I have a name for these ankle boots: "Erin boots". Why? Because I thought of Erin right when I saw these at Payless. Heck, if ankle boots are awesome on her, maybe they'll look fine on me. ;)

feel the buzz and hum along.

I am truly happy to brag about four wines that did not end up down the drain!

Omigah, YUM!

Fish Eye cabernet sauvignon, $4.99 at Lucky Supermarket
10-19-09-c
This one almost scared me because it doesn't have a cork. Instead, it has a metal twisty cap. Even the super-cheap crappy wines I've tried had corks. So, it came as a huge surprise that this stuff tasted deeelicious. I'm definitely going to get this in a box! :)

Mad Housewife cabernet sauvignon, $7.99 at Zanotto's

Isn't this the cutest label EVER? And the wine is good, too!

Even the back label is nice!

Repeat Sunday - red hooded sweater

I'm wearing my comfy red hooded sweater with skinny jeans again. And for some reason, I'm stuck on pairing this sweater with a teal top. Last week, it was a Kohls dark teal top. Today it was a bright teal top from Nordstrom Rack. The only big thing I changed up was the footwear.

And, oh yeah, I promised Alannah a pic of me with the hood on. :)

Leather boots.
10-18-09-e

These boots were purchased from Bakers Shoes online. The boots were originally priced at $149.95, but I patiently waited till they were marked down to $49.95.

And why did I purchase these boots? Let's say that my fangirl tendencies can get the best of me. I wanted the same style boots that Lena Headey wore as 'Sarah Connor' on Terminator: TSCC. She totally rocked these boots. And I knew that that style boot could encompass my big calves because of the buckles.

drop your socks and grab your mini boombox.

Brian thought I looked like a freak for wearing this outfit to lunch at 24-Hour Mini Gourmet and to buy a heavy-duty shredder at Office Depot.

I didn't really know what I was thinking when I planned today's outfit --- all I wanted was an outfit to wear with these bright purple footless tights that I purchased on clearance at Target back in May.

The skirt is hitched all the way up to my chest because I wanted more of the tights to show.

Today marked the second time I wore these tights. The only other time was under my wedding dress back in June. (haha, I'll post a pic of that later!)

I've worn this same black tanktop three times this week. Well, I admit, I have a tendency to wear a top two or three times during the course of the week because I'm just that lazy. Oh wells. At least, I change up the sweater worn over it.
