Rachel and I went halfsies on a circle scarf from American Apparel. It was very important for me to have Rachel there when I bought it because I needed her input. I kept eyeing the grey and black plaid, and she agreed with me that it was the best one in stock. Where did I get this idea to cut a circle scarf in half? Alannah! because she sent me a half of her tie-dyed circle scarf. :)

I love my American Apparel circle scarves!

March 13 was Brian's birthday. We went to a Sharks game, where the Predators beat the Sharks in OT. For dinner, we joined Em & Dave at House of Prime Rib in SF. With a name like that, of course, their prime rib so did not disappoint! It was theee best prime rib I've ever had!

A souvenir from that night - a Polaroid!

This is one of my most favourite souvenirs ever, especially because I bought it on my honeymoon.

Everything is magical. When you're near, it's magical.

March 9 was a magical day for me. I got to hang out with my awesome friends Rachel and Jason at the Little Boots show at the Fillmore, SF. Because I went straight to the venue right after work, I was able to secure us a spot right at the stage.

Dragonette blew us all away. I really love Martina's high-pitched, yet strong voice.

Little Boots was supernatural. So much friggen talent! The highlights of her set were "New In Town", "Remedy", and "Stuck On Repeat". Those three happen to be my most fave songs of hers.

Because I wore a boring work outfit, I didn't bother to take a pic of myself in it. So, I leave you with a pic of Rachel and Jason looking good. :)

Heard you're new in town. Want someone to show you 'round?

Rachel came down last weekend, and I had a blast hanging out with her! We had dinner at 24-Hr Mini Gourmet, went to the local rich mall and the super-rich mall, saw a Sharks game, had really delicious breakfast at Naglee Park Garage, shopped at Ross, and indulged in yarn at Purlescence. Despite all the stuff we did, we managed to fit in viewings of 'Barefoot Contessa' and sleep!

This is how I looked on March 6, for our big shopping day in San Jose and Santa Clara:

sweater: Ross.....top: Ross.....denim leggings: JC Penney
socks: Target.....boots: Bakers Shoes

For those not in the know, the rich mall in my area, Westfield Valley Fair, is in both San Jose and Santa Clara. It's just that huge. Across the street, most definitely in San Jose, is super-rich mall Santana Row. Because the parking situation is crazy at Santana Row, it's easier to park at Valley Fair and then walk to Santana Row.

Old Navy is located at Valley Fair, but it is not attached to the mall itself. I guess they want to keep the riff-raff out? Well, we definitely hit up that store for bargains. I tried on a bulky-knit dolman shrug, but ended up buying two boyfriend sweaters for a grand total of $25.00. Rachel already had that shrug in gunmetal grey, so she bought it in black.

This is how I looked wearing that shrug:

It was also free beanie day at the Shark Tank.

Every clap of thunder only makes me stronger on the inside.

Totally random nugget:
"Earthquake" by Little Boots played over the muzak as Brian and I claimed our luggage and then walked over to the rental car bus stop at San Diego International Airport on the night of February 26.

This is how I looked on Feb. 27, braving the wind in Ocean Beach:

No cropping was done because Brian really framed the shots so well!

It had been raining for most of the day in San Diego. After having a hearty and delicious lunch at Hodad's in Ocean Beach and after the rain stopped, we went for a short drive and ended up at the shore.

I only spent a day and a half in San Diego, and I really want to go back.
