i was once your diamond

This is how I looked on Nov. 17:
11-17-12-jacket
11-17-12-hoody
leather jacket: gift from Brian's mom.....hoody: PacSun, gift from my brother
turtleneck: Target.....jeans: J. Crew, thrifted at Savers
handbag: Dooney & Bourke.....boots: Payless

I went to SF on a mission: to see the new Keira Knightley movie Anna Karenina at the AMC Metreon. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. There were beautiful visuals and the story was told in a very interesting manner. But, wait, who am I kidding? I watched this for Keira. I can watch her in anything. I was too impatient to wait for the Nov. 30 nationwide release, so I hopped on Caltrain to watch it at the one theatre in the Bay Area that was showing it Nov. 16.

After the movie, I stopped at the Forever21 Mega Store on Stockton and Market to buy a pair of tacky leggings. For late lunch, I made my way to Burger Bar at Macy's Union Square. I love Burger Bar.

The fog earlier called for a jacket. So, I got out my trusty leather jacket.
It's my only leather jacket.

vacation all i ever needed

In March, I went on a Disney Cruise with Brian and our families to the Mexican Riviera.

This is photographic proof that I will wear whatever I want to wear on vacation, regardless of the weather.

This is what I wore on the first day onboard.

Yes, I am wearing a hoody AND a leather jacket. But I am sooo loving on my pina colada / strawberry daiquiri drink!

This is my second day onboard.

good things are coming. don't be so selfless.

Monday, May 23 - Rachel and Shawn came down to see Rival Schools at The Blank Club in San Jose. Because I live so close to The Blank Club, I got to hang out with my dear friends.

We had such an awesome time! Dinner at Pizz'a Chicago and then rocking out to Rival Schools!

This is how I looked that night:
5-23-11-a
5-23-11-b
leather jacket: Wilsons.....sweater: H&M.....t-shirt: Gap
jeans: Steve & Barry's.....socks: Target.....sneakers: PacSun

Here's footage from that show.
My big noggin can sorta be seen -- I stood in front of the bassist.

i love it in your room at night. you're the only one who gets through to me.

Brian and I went on a crazy outing to Beverages & More on New Year's Eve. Yeah. Don't go to BevMo, or any booze warehouse store for that matter, on New Year's Eve. Just don't.

My New Year's Eve outfit was inspired by Erin @ "Work With What You've Got". She had worn a Spice Girls t-shirt with a leather jacket in this post. I figured that I had a girl-group t-shirt somewhere in my closet that could go with my leather jacket.

This is what I came up with:
12-31-10-b
12-31-10-a
Bangles t-shirt: it's a bootleg from 1988, given to me by a fellow Bangles fan back in 2001
jacket: Wilsons Leather
denim leggings: JC Penney
socks: Target.....boots: Avenue

I angled myself in these photos on purpose. My fave Bangles songs were sung by Susanna Hoffs, and I really heart Michael Steele.

experiment in black. experiment in black.

The attitude I give off in the following photos required that I convert them from colour to greyscale.

Leather jacket = automatic coolness.

Also, finally finding a pair of Aerosoles boots (on super-mega-clearance, by the way) that completely zip up over my 15-inch calves = miracle.

leather jacket: Wilsons Leather
sweater: Macy's.....skirt: Ross

knowing you're beside me, i'm all right

This is how I looked on June 7:
6-7-10-a
6-7-10-b
6-7-10-c
dress: Old Navy.....handbag: D&B
socks: Target.....boots: Avenue
jacket: Wilson's Leather.....scarf: H&M

This is how I looked sans jacket and scarf:
6-7-10-d
bean necklace: Tiffany & Co......emo facial expression: purely accidental

Yesterday, Brian and I walked to The Grill On The Alley in downtown San Jose for our anniversary dinner. It was a bit chilly out, so the jacket and scarf were necessary. Also, I wore these boots because I didn't feel like wearing nylons or tights.

i dream of simple things i can believe in.

mini-socks: Payless.....shoes: Aerosoles

I love this top, but, next time, I'm going to pair it with a pair of cigarette pants and maybe a belt. Oh great, another excuse to go clothes-shopping. ;)

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Sometimes, these eyes forget the face they're peering from.

This is how I looked on April 3:
4-3-10-a
sweater: H&M.....tanktop: Wet Seal.....jeans: Steve & Barry's
socks: Target.....Etnies sneakers: PacSun
circle scarf: American Apparel

This is how I looked when I left the house to meet up with Maria for our trip to the Legion of Honor in SF:
4-3-10-b
leather jacket: Wilson's Leather, a gift from Brian's mom

This is how I looked when we made it to the museum and then walked around downtown SF:
4-3-10-c
wool coat: Zara

It was beautiful and sunny in SF that Saturday, but it was also chilly and windy. I needed a jacket that would cover my bum, that's how cold I was! Being the over-cautious person that I am, I had brought along the wool coat just in case. After the museum trip, we drove on down to downtown SF to get lunch and to walk around. Brrr! Cold!

For some reason, I've been wearing my hair up in a ponytail on the weekends. Mind you, it's a pitiful ponytail, since my hair is barely shoulder-length.

Maria and I finally went on an outing to the Legion of Honor to see the "Cartier and America" exhibition. The jewels were simply breathtaking. There was this one brooch with a 47.59 carat pear-shaped diamond that we kept coming back to hover over. So amazing!

I was on his wavelength, and he was on mine.

Yesterday, I hung out with Em and her friend Whitney in Berkeley and in SF. Fun girly time!

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Maybe I'm an open book because I know you're mine.

This is how I looked on Saturday:
01-30-10-a
01-30-10-b
jacket: Wilson's Leather, a gift from Brian's mom.....dress: Charlotte Russe
tights: JC Penney.....booties: Payless

01-30-10-d
A close-up of the dress fabric. I bought this dress with the sole purpose of wearing it with my leather jacket. (Cough, Erin, cough, you inspired this!) I'm still surprised that a dress from Charlotte Russe actually fits me.

01-30-10-c
I wore bright purple tights with this dress. Totally random choice. I wasn't in the mood for my usual black tights.

What was the occasion? I celebrated my birthday in Las Vegas with Brian. And we went to Las Vegas for one reason: Sheena Easton. Omigah, I love her!! Seeing her live made my birthday so awesome.

I was too young to see Sheena when she first came out with her big hits. Obviously, I was way too young because I used to think "Sugar Walls" was about Hansel and Gretel and a house that was really made of sugar. Then, randomly in late 2009, I got really into her. I got all of her albums and was completely hooked! So, seeing Sheena at a show in Vegas was like making up for lost time.

Confession time: I totally cried when Sheena sang "For Your Eyes Only." It was pure magic.

By the way, I turned 32. :)

By the way, she did perform "Sugar Walls", and hearing those high notes live sent chills up and down my spine.
