love was surely made for fools like me

This is how I looked on Nov. 7, 2012:
11-7-12
jacket: Wilson's Leather.....cardigan: Nordstrom Rack.....top: Walmart
jeans: Forever 21.....socks: Target.....boots: Avenue

The fog earlier called for a jacket. So, I got out my trusty leather jacket.
It's my only leather jacket.

my reflection, dirty mirror

This is how I looked on Oct. 26, 2012:
10-26-12
green brocade coat: Anthropologie, gift from Emily.....sweater: Nordstrom Rack.....top: Marshalls
black coat: Gap Outlet.....denim leggings: JC Penney.....scarf: H&M
flats: Sam Edelman, gift from Whitney.....boots: Charlotte Russe

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month. The company I work for let us wear jeans and pink to the office. I wore my coral cardi because that's how I roll. The bejeweled flats are so lovely.

It was very cold this morning, so I got to wear this green beauty for the first time today.

I wore my trusty black Gap coat for happy hour at Firehouse No. 1. And why not? Teal boots.

candy, candy, candy, i can't let you go.

I kinda sorta really don't have summer clothing.

Case in point?

This outfit that I wore on July 4th.
7-4-11
sweater: Old Navy.....tank top: Nordstrom Rack
skirt: Target.....leggings: Target
flip-flops: giftshop @ The Mirage, Las Vegas

I think the weather was really warm that day.

Also, check out my bangs. I love having fringe to hide my big forehead. One late night, boredom and a pair of sewing scissors met up, and this was the end-result.

The more I think of you, the more I melt like ice cream.

I went shopping in my closet for another wool coat, and I found this hot pink number.

12-21-10-A
12-21-10-B
wool coat: Target.....random outfit underneath
leggings: Target.....socks: Target.....boots: Bakers Shoes
gloves: Wal-Mart.....scarf: Walt Disney World

This coat is Isaac Mizrahi for Target, and it was purchased in 2003. I was obsessed with that shade of pink, so I had to have it! Fortunately, I bought this coat on clearance. Unfortunately, I couldn't button it across my tummy. The only one left was size S. And so I wore it open for the few times I did wear it. Or I would button it only on my chest. I loved hot pink that much.

Well, needless to say, times have changed.

to satisfy the curiosity, you take a bite out of all the candies.

This is how I looked on Oct. 7:
10-7-10-a
10-7-10-b
10-7-10-c
sweater: Target.....dress: JC Penney
tights: JC Penney.....shoes: DSW

I actually made an effort to pick a sweater and a pair of tights that weren't black for this outfit. The magenta tights are actually brighter than they let on, and I can't believe this is the first time I've worn my fave purple sweater with this dress.

By the way, I still can't get over how I purchased this dress for a mere $15.00 on clearance last year. Nah, I just can't. Also, it's a size M, and, at the time, I so wasn't a size M. It was the only one left at the Southland JC Penney, so I bought it anyway. When I wore it to a cousin's wedding in January of this year, a sweater hid the half-zipped back.

step by step, heart to heart

This is how I looked the afternoon of Aug. 6:
8-6-10-a
8-6-10-b
8-6-10-c
sweater: Target.....tanktop: Nordstrom Rack.....skirt: Ross
mini-socks: Payless.....shoes: DSW

Then, I dressed down because Brian and I went on another date! Martinis and appetizers at The Grill On The Alley, dinner at Baja Fresh, and Despicable Me at Camera 12 Cinemas.

So, this is how I looked the evening of Aug. 6:
8-6-10-d
sweater: Old Navy.....tanktop: Nordstrom Rack.....leggings: Target
socks: Target.....boots: Bakers Shoes.....crossbody: Dooney & Bourke

women have been hunted. now, they're hunting around.

This is how I looked the afternoon of Aug. 4:
8-4-10-a
8-4-10-b

sweater: Obscured Oleander cardi, Anthropologie.....tanktop: Nordstrom Rack
skirt: Banana Republic
mini-socks: Payless.....shoes: DSW

This cardi was purchased back on July 9, when Em and I decided to step into Anthro instead of Ross to kill time before our reservation at Zuni Cafe in SF. I made the mistake of only looking for items in the size L area of the sale room. Em, being the awesome person that she is, kept an eye out for items for me to try on as well as for her to try on in the size S and XS sections. She found this cardi and asked me to try it on. I looked at the tag in disbelief. Size S??

"Just try it on. It's going to be baggy on me, but it will fit you," she said.

And I tried it on.

And I loved it!

To celebrate this Anthro cardi, I paired it with a skirt that I haven't worn since 2003. Why, hello there, Banana Republic skirt found on the clearance rack, marked down to $12.95! Oh, how much I've missed you!

you pull me in. baby, you pull on my heartstrings.

This is what I wore to go grocery shopping:

nothing ends up right when you're in a craze

This is how I looked on July 3:
7-3-10
sweater: Old Navy.....tanktop: H&M.....jeans: Charlotte Russe
mini-socks: Payless.....shoes: Target

Saturday, I got a trim and my eyebrows waxed. If it weren't for the wedding I was attending the following Monday, I would have just gotten a trim. I do have to say, I prefer having someone else wax my brows instead of doing it myself. It's way less painful that way.

i can never get enough. you got the good stuff, good stuff.

This is how I looked on June 24:
6-23-10-a
6-23-10-b
sweater: Rue 21.....skirt: Ross
mini-socks: Target.....shoes: DSW

I have no idea why I like pairing this sweater with a grey skirt. I really should try this top with a green or a purple skirt.

**starts a wishlist**

lying on a bed of roses, in a sea of broken arrows

The weather was really nice and warm, but I still wore a sweater out of habit.

6-13-10
sweater: Nordstrom.....tanktop: Old Navy.....jeans: Charlotte Russe
socks: Target.....shoes: PacSun

We spent most of today trying to sort out the second bedroom. We hung up pictures on the walls, and went to Office Depot to look at desks. Not very exciting, yet very productive.

seems the road less travelled shows happiness unravelled

6-10-10-a
sweater: Loehmann's.....secret tanktop: Nordstrom Rack.....pants: Ross
mini-socks: Payless.....shoes: Aerosoles

I wore heels today because of the length of the pants.

Detail of the pink pinstripes.

5-28-10-b
sweater: Old Navy.....tanktop: H&M.....skirt: NY & Co.
leggings: Target.....socks: Target.....boots: Bakers Shoes

Brian and I left for Huntington Beach on Friday night. Because we were driving down, I needed to wear a comfy outfit. Baggy sweater, leggings, and boots? It couldn't be any comfier than that!

El Centro De Mi Corazón

My shoes are on the left. Maria's are on the right. Ruffles, baby!
5-15-10-flats
black flats: DSW.....raspberry flats: Payless
Photo taken after eating a late-night dinner, May 15.

Saturday, May 15, Maria and I went to see Chayanne at the HP Pavilion, aka The Shark Tank. There were no openers, it was just Chayanne for two hours straight. Even though I didn't understand a single word of Spanish, I enjoyed it! Wait, I lied. I understood "corazón," "amor" y "tu." It was Maria's suggestion for us to go this show, and I'm so happy we did.

Chayanne is a beautiful, beautiful man. And, ugh, I forgot to bring my camera to the show. I kinda heard of him by accident, before Maria lent me a Chayanne cd. He wrote and sang the theme song to my current fave telenovela, Corazón Salvaje.

Maria and I wore comfy shoes, and we were the most covered up chicas in attendance. And no joke, I was probably the only Asian at the concert.

My fave Chayanne songs:

"Me Enamoré De Ti" - the theme song to Corazón Salvaje

"Torero"

I can put your pieces back together, while I take the rest of you apart.

5-21-10-a
5-21-10-b
5-21-10-c
sweater: Loehmann's.....dress: JC Penney
tights: Loehmann's.....Steve Madden shoes: DSW

The top half of this dress may never see the light of day because it's a few inches too loose on top. Or I'm just too flat-chested for it. Or something. That's fine by me. I only spent $14 on this clearance-rack dress, and I liked it only because of the hot pink and white flowers. So, I guess that makes this dress a "faux-skirt"?

Saturday, May 15, 2010

everything's coming up roses for me and for you.

Love these roses.

I knew a boy. He came from the sea.

A baggy comfy outfit for the weekend.

The joker always smiles in every hand that's dealt.

This is how I looked on April 19:
4-19-10-a
4-19-10-b
sweater: Rue 21.....skirt: Steve & Barry's
mini-socks: Payless.....Steve Madden flats: DSW

I bought this sweater back in 2004, I think. And what got me was the details -- the pink stitching on the hems and the huge flower applique. I should have taken a detail shot of the flower since it has beaded fabulousness.

I wore a grey skirt only because I didn't want to do the usual head-to-toe black.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Feel the weight of it all just drift off on a cloud to another time.

This is how I looked on March 20:
3-20-10-a
3-20-10-b
sweater: Old Navy.....tanktop: Nordstrom Rack
denim leggings: JC Penney.....shoes: Payless

Baggy sweaters from Old Navy = my favourite items of clothing right now.

Monday, March 22, 2010

We used to see in color. Now, it's only black and white.

This is how I looked on March 18:

tights: JC Penney.....shoes: Aerosoles
circle scarf: American Apparel
